Metro Steamway is locally owned and family grown since 1988. Brian started as an employee in 1998 and now owns the company with his wife and three girls.
Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 7:00pm. Sundays are reserved for commercial, medical & patient facilities only.
How long does carpet take to dry?
Most carpets are dry within 6–10 hours. With good airflow and moderate humidity many are dry sooner, and we can set up air movers to speed things along.
How often should carpets be cleaned?
Most homes do well with a professional cleaning every 1-2 years. Homes with kids, pets, or heavy foot traffic are best served every year.
Are there carpets that can't be cleaned?
Almost any carpet can be cleaned. A few delicate or unusual fibers need special care — we always test first and let you know before we start.
Do you offer additional services?
Yes — rugs, upholstery, tile & grout, pet odor treatment, fabric protection, and pressure washing. Ask and we'll bundle it into one visit.

What happens if I'm unsatisfied?
We have never experienced client dissatisfaction in over 30 years. We stay until the job is done.
We have a long gravel drive and a lot of red clay. Can you get it out of the carpet?
Usually, yes. Clay and grit settle into the base of the carpet where a vacuum cannot reach. Hot water extraction flushes them out and stands the pile back up.
Do you clean tile and grout too?
Yes. Our high-pressure hot-water process flushes years of clay and grime out of the grout lines and restores the tile in kitchens, baths, and mudrooms.
How long does the carpet take to dry?
Usually a few hours. The truck-mounted system pulls most of the water back out, so the carpet is dry the same day. In Charlotte's humidity that matters, since a carpet left damp can take on a musty smell.
